Hey everyone, this idea for BT News isn't to highlight every news thing LEGO related, but rather new parts or minifigures of theory interest. Not sure on this one. This was written the same weekend as NY Toy Fair (old news I know).
Hello everybody this is Maniac4Bricks with a Brick Theorists News special, or BT News for short.
New York Toy Fair 2017 took place on February 18 at the Javits Center, which means LEGO fans are checking out the latest sets months in advance of their release date. Images have leaked from multiple sources and the sets on the whole look pretty good, but for this video, we’re focusing on a couple things: some new molds and elements and some new figures. Stay tuned as we’ll look at some images from an upcoming Ninjago set not shown at the fair.
First up, the fair. Our interests lie in what will expand the LEGO world through figures and elements. The LEGO City line shows a new feline mold that will portray panthers and leopards in minifigure-like scale. We’ll see later if this is properly scaled to a minifigure based on real-world measurements, as we’ll eventually do with all LEGO animals coexisting with minifigures. The lineup for Series 17 CMF’s was also unveiled and adds two more unique animals – a French bull dog and a rabbit – into the minifigure world. It’s also a good time to mention that a beach-related City set much like set 60134, numbered 60153, will include the Friends version of a dolphin. We’ve seen this for a while but I needed to mention this. Despite animals like rabbits, cats and dogs being different molds in City and Friends, we now see the two worlds integrated through the dolphin. This opens up speculation for us with where Friends and City take place geographically and chronologically but we’ll save that for another day. Also I’d like to point out that one of the kid minifigures lying in the hammock has a cell phone exactly printed from the Friends line. They also share in this set and many others the same way of eating ice cream, which before Friends would have been in a glass instead of this cone. Up next, in one of the upcoming Friends sets, we see a baby version of the minidolls with the same mold as the one from CMF Series 15. It doesn’t say much but it helps connect the two worlds. Again, more on these later.
Next on our list, Instagram user TitaZane picked up battle packs for Ninjago and Nexo Knights in Signapore prior to their LEGO Brand Store releases! What’s most interesting for us is that The Shade has a familiar emblem on his torso…the same one shared by the Roman Commander from CMF Series 10.
interesting.
These are a few more things to add to our notes as we brainstorm some more Brick Theories and other videos. Thanks for watching and let us know what you think about these and other LEGO unveilings from New York Toy Fair weekend in the comments below. Also if you’d like to see more Brick Theory News like this in the future, give the video a like and share it on social media! We have new videos coming up later this week so stay subscribed and ring the bell to join the notification squad! See you next time!
